When we say vacation, we immediately think of the deep blue waters and oxygen-free nature of the Mediterranean. In the past years, we have preferred a special camping facility in Adrasan for our holiday. This year, the favorite of our holiday was Antalya's Kaş city. I can say that we have officially left our hearts, especially at the magnificent view that appears at every point we turn our faces. Kaş city has been chosen as the 4th city with the largest area in Antalya city. Moreover, approximately 70 km from the city of Kas. It has a very wide coastline. Therefore, while walking on the road, you can be fascinated by the majesty of the mountains on one side and sigh with the clear sea on the other.

Kas, which has countless beauties, is located at a long distance of approximately 190 km from the city center of Antalya. In addition, Kaş is located exactly at the western point of the city center. One of the features that distinguishes Kaş from other tourism points is that it is located at the intersection of the Lycian Way and the Carian Way. Therefore, this situation makes the region indispensable in terms of cultural tourism. We chose Kaş to get away from the noise of the city, to explore the westernmost part of the Mediterranean and to see the campsites lined up in rows, and we started our journey from the city of Sakarya. How did we go to Kaş?

At the point of starting our Kaş holiday, I can say that the issue we are most anxious about is transportation. Since we did not have a private vehicle, it was too big for us to go to a far point by public transport. However, I can say that it is easier or even simpler than we envision. The date we were going to go on vacation was on the night of September 5th. The journey takes about 10 hours and 45 minutes. While we were going, we preferred Kamil Koç company. Other companies may take a little longer to go. We started our journey from Adapazarı Bus Terminal with the 00:30 hour Kaş bus. On the way, the bus also visited popular cities such as Kütahya, Afyon, Burdur, Fethiye and Kalkan. If you get hungry during the journey, the bus stops by Adalya Recreation Facility in Afyon. Here you can eat soups, stews and rice dishes.

After small breaks, we opened our eyes to the coastal parts of the Mediterranean with the first light of the day. It would not be wrong to say that we do not even understand how the remaining road passed with the happiness of having entered the Mediterranean. After being fascinated by the beauty of Kaputaj Beach, the road we entered had many winding turns. However, I can still say that the road is the most beautiful sights I have ever seen in my life. We had determined the destination point of our ticket as Kaş Bus Terminal. After resting breaks and gas time on the road, our clock reached 12. While we were about 7-8 minutes away from Kaş Bus Terminal, we encountered a surprise on the way. Our bus passed right in front of Kaş Olympos Mocamp, where we were going. As soon as we saw it, we found ourselves at the bus door. We took our belongings and got off and the 5-day Kas camping holiday journey started for us!

What Did We Bring to Kaş Camp?

Of course, this was the second issue that we had trouble with, as we went by public transport to the camping holiday we set out for Kas. However, I can say that the items we brought were more than enough for us for 5 days, and we even found many items in the camp facility. While preparing the camping equipment, the most important thing for us was a comfortable tent. In the past years, we preferred a classic two-person tent model when we went to Adrasan. However, that year, I can say that both the small size and the sun-proof feature made it difficult for us, especially in terms of tents. This year, we gave the greatest importance to the tent in order not to experience the same difficulties. That's why we chose our tent from the Comfort series. We stayed as two people in a 4-person family tent. Moreover, the tent also had a veranda where we could put our belongings. We had almost no difficulty in putting things in the tent, and this made our holiday very comfortable. Our only problem with the tent was that it was not sunproof. However, when I called the camp facility in advance, they said that the tents are full of shade. So, frankly, we didn't worry too much about the sun protection feature. (I wish we had some. We woke up from the tent with an incredible heat from 8 in the morning.)

Let's go inside the tent. Since we came to the campsite by public transport, we could not bring a camping bed or pillow with us. I can say that this situation is a bit of a challenge for us, but we tried to produce alternative solutions for ourselves. We brought mats and blankets with us to avoid direct contact with the ground. We tried to solve the pillow business with our soft holiday clothes. Frankly, although this situation may seem challenging, I can even say that it is good for my neck area because it is slightly hard 😊

Yes, let's talk about coldness. The most frustrating detail on a camping holiday may be feeling cold in the sweetest place of sleep. We knew that Kaş was a little warmer than normal. However, considering that it is September, we brought an additional blanket to cover ourselves. Glad we took it. Even though I sleep in the evening without covering my head with the humidity of the air, I must confess that around 5-6 in the morning I left my artistry behind and wrapped myself in the blanket.

We went on our camping holiday with a total of two backpacks, a tote bag, mat and tent equipment. Therefore, we filled as much as we could put in their backpacks. First of all, we didn't get ourselves too much for the top-up. This holiday included the themes of getting rid of the intense engagement tempo and resting for us. So frankly, our only goal was to be comfortable. I brought a shorts, two dresses and a t-shirt with me. I didn't even wear a t-shirt. If you are going on holiday to Kaş, you will sigh heavily when you see the sea, so only your swimsuits will suffice during the daytime. In the evening, there is no need for much make-up or decoration; You are already naturally beautiful with the scorching sun of Kaş. 😊

Let's get to the food equipment. Since we will spend our holiday for 5 days, we thought that we would spend our time with snack foods. We didn't even buy supplies such as pans and pots. When I called the camp facility, they said that there is a refrigerator and stove, but no cookware. About the kitchenware with us; We brought fork, knife, olive oil, salt, wooden spoon, opener, dish soap and sponge. I even put olive oil and dish soap in small travel kits so as not to burden them. It was very comfortable, I highly recommend it. Although we took limited items for food supplies, we did not have much difficulty. There is a Migros in Kaş Marina, 1 km from Kaş Olympos Mocamp. We took care of most of our needs there. We bought ourselves cardboard plates, glasses and tablecloths. On the first day, we spent the meal in the form of tuna salad. On the second day, we said that it would not be possible to come to the Mediterranean without making raki and fish. 😊 On other days, we had lunch with Migros canned products. In the evening, we sometimes consumed the delicious pizzas of Migros hot, and sometimes we went to Kaş center and had a home-cooked meal. At Kaş Olympos Mocamp, special tables and chairs are provided for each tent free of charge. Thus, we have put our meals and evening conversations on a comfortable table. In short, although our equipment is limited in terms of food, I can say that we consume delicious meals without being hungry.

Finally, I would like to mention the solidarity power of camping. We formed very close friendships with Ebru and Uğur, who stayed in our next tent. Since they are long-term campers, their equipment was better equipped than we are. We have been guests to them many times, especially for tea and coffee. They never stopped helping us and showed that camping is better with friendships. 😊

Where did we swim in Kaş?

When it comes to Kaş, it is impossible not to mention the long coastline. While walking towards the center, you follow a long coastline to your right. Especially in the evening, you can spend very romantic hours with your collar reflecting on the sea. There are popular spots such as Kaputaş Beach, Big Pebble Beach, Small Pebble Beach, İnceboğaz Beach and Asmaaltı Beach, where you can swim in Kaş. During the holiday, we took advantage of the beach offered by Kaş Olympos Mocamp free of charge to its guests. There were cushioned sun loungers, umbrellas, water connection, changing cabins, buffet, toilet, shower, box, pontoon and pier on the beach. However, the pier and lodge sections were rented for a certain fee. Therefore, we spent most of our time in the classic beach section. While entering the sea, we preferred the stairs section as well as the normal beach. Since the water is shallow at first, your feet start to touch the ground at every point you enter. After a short while, you can gradually feel the depth. However, even if you don't know how to swim, I don't think you will have much difficulty. In general, there are not many waves and currents in the sea as long as the boat does not pass.

Another beach where we sighed in Kas was Kaputaş. Unfortunately, we could not find the opportunity to swim in Kaputaş Beach during our holiday. We just had the chance to witness its fascinating view. Kaputaş Beach is known as Turkey's Maldives. You have to climb about 190 steps to reach the golden yellow sandy beach of the beach and the clear sea reminiscent of an aquarium. However, we can guarantee that your tiredness will disappear in the face of the fascinating beauty you witness. Entrance to Kaputaş Beach is provided free of charge. Shower use is also free. However, you have to pay a reasonable fee for the use of sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach. Even though we lost the chance to swim at Kaputaş Beach during our holiday this year, I can guarantee that I have engraved a magnificent view in my memory and that I will definitely visit this beauty again in the coming years.

How is Kas Sea?

The sea of ​​Kaş, which you will admire at first sight, is generally stone and rocky. Although this situation does not bother us too much, if you will be uncomfortable with a stone sinking on your feet, you should definitely bring sea shoes with you. As you slowly walk from the stones to the sea, you get the chance to swim in a warm sea, especially at noon. In general, I have not seen a very cold current in the sea of ​​Kaş. However, depending on the time you enter, sometimes a cold stream may come after the hot water. Since this situation is for a very short time, you do not feel cold in the water at all.

If I were to sum up the Kaş sea in one sentence, I would say “Like an aquarium…”. Regardless of where you enter the sea, you can see all the stones when you look at the ground from the corner of your eye. In fact, since I am very interested in beach stones, I saw many stones by looking from the outside with the naked eye in shallow spots and bought them as souvenirs. 😊 Thanks to the clear sea, one of the most beautiful spots is that you can see many fish swimming at the bottom and even have the chance to swim with them. The density of fish in the sea of ​​Kaş is a little high, but it does not harm people in any way. In fact, when you see their jumps on the sea, you witness a visual feast.

Finally, I can say that the sea of ​​Kaş is extremely salty. In fact, when I dived to the bottom of the sea a few times, I felt that my eyes and nose were burning from salt. But don't let this scare you, it will pass soon. Moreover, the salty sea instantly dried and destroyed a few acne and blemishes on my body. He even got full marks from me for doing natural salt therapy to my hair. 😊

Which Campground to Go to in Kaş?

Kaş, the blue paradise of the Mediterranean, is also a developed city in terms of camping areas. Earlier, as Campalow, we had compiled an article called Kaş campgrounds. During my trip to Kaş, I had the opportunity to see many of the mentioned camping areas with the naked eye. There are many camping areas on Uğur Mumcu Street in the Andifli region, respectively. We saw Kaş Evren Camping, Kaş Olympos Mocamp, Kaş Marin Camping, Kaş Camping and Arıkan Bungalow & Camping facilities, respectively. The most important feature that makes Kaş camping areas different is that they are all established in a magnificent nature. In whichever facility you stay, you have the chance to see the fascinating sea of ​​Kaş with the first light of the morning. In addition, minibuses moving towards Kaş center pass in front of each of these facilities. Therefore, you can easily reach the city while staying comfortably. If you want to walk instead of taking the minibus, the center is about 2 km away from these campgrounds.

We preferred Kaş Olympos Mocamp for our holiday. In general, I can say that I am satisfied with everything it offers, its friendly service and its magnificent nature. We paid 100 TL per person per day to the campsite. It was not very crowded as it was September season. Therefore, we did not experience any grievances about hot water and refrigerator. We especially liked the tent pitches of Kaş Olympos Mocamp on the hill. Although not in our camp this year, when we go again after years, we will prefer the peaks where we can set up our tents against the view. Moreover, two absolute and different shower-toilets are reserved for both the upper and lower parts of the facility. In this way, you are not exposed to any difficulties regarding your needs at the point of your stay, and you do not run into the crowd.

What can be done in Kaş Center?

Let's come to the fun and culture-smelling streets of Kaş. We chose to walk from the camping area on our way to the center of Kas. We reached the center in about 25 minutes and half an hour. The biggest thing that draws my attention in the center of Kaş is that it is a small but comprehensive place. You can find all kinds of opportunities for eating and drinking, shopping and sightseeing in the center without traveling too far. Another feature that I especially liked in the center was the importance given to handicraft. At the center, many women have set up stands for handmade rag dolls, jewelry design and knitting. It was an invaluable pleasure to realize the power of women in a small space and chat with beautiful people.

On the way to the center of Kaş, there is Kaş Marina in the direction of Uğur Mumcu Street. There are areas such as Migros where you can shop and bar-restaurant where you can have a pleasant time. Moreover, you can witness beautiful yacht views along the coastline in the region, also known as the yacht club. The marina is seen as a pretty free spot. There are many people riding bikes, walking their dogs or having a good time on the grass inside. In addition, the marina area is protected by security. Therefore, if you want to have a pleasant time and do your shopping at a close location without going to the center, you can visit Kaş Marina.

Although we did not experience it during our holiday, as far as I can see, boat tours are organized from Kaş center to beautiful bays. You can choose the most suitable boat tour on the coastline and visit the fascinating coves with the first light of the morning. With Kas boat tours, you can visit excellent routes such as Çamlık Bay, Aquarium Bay, Batıkşehir, Kaleköy, Üçağız Village, Shipyard Bay, Pirate Cave and İnönü Bay. There are also many souvenir shops in the center of Kas. Especially handmade silver jewelry, Lycian carpets, rugs and designer clothes are in abundance. We bought Kaş city magnets for our family and loved ones. However, if you want more, you can evaluate many varieties in the gift shops you see every step of the way. On the way to the center, we met a very sweet aunt in a store on the right side of the road. He made us very happy by giving us another magnet as a gift. I do not want to pass without mentioning him. 😊

We climbed three or four times to see almost every street in the center of Kaş. The warm atmosphere provided by the dim light in every street made us feel ourselves in a completely different world. It was a subject that upset us by drawing our attention in the streets of Kaş, I do not want to go without mentioning it. There are many breeds of cats and dogs on the streets. They're all on a leash and left alone. I think the owners think that they will lead a good life in Kaş and leave their friends there alone. Although the people of Kaş establish a sincere affinity with living things, please do not leave our closest friends on the street and go.

How is Kas Nightlife?

When it comes to Kaş, it is impossible to pass without mentioning its famous nightlife. As we can see, Kaş nightlife is quite fun and crowded. Since we don't like many clubs, we spent most of our time in the street of bars. Normally, our aim was to visit Aylin Aslım's bar named Gagarin. However, as of the time we went, we could not coincide with the time that Gagarin was open. Instead of Gagarin, we chose Meow, Boogie and Mavi as bar choices. On the first day we went to the center, we chose Meow as a rider. Although we can't find many beers in the cocktail-dominated bar, we liked the atmosphere very much. We felt very comfortable especially with the smiling face and hospitality of the owner. While living in Meow, you have the opportunity to see the streets of Kaş from a half bird's eye view. In this way, we had the chance to observe Kaş while chatting. I can say that prices are normal in Meow. We also benefited from a 10% discount for paying cash.

We wanted to use our second choice from a more popular location. We chose Boogie for some research and suitability for our farm. In general, I can say that it has a nice atmosphere. However, as of 10 o'clock, the music playing in the bars next to each other interrupted our conversation a little. Still, the atmosphere of the street, the variety of beers and the friendly service made us happy. I can say that the beer prices are in the normal bands compared to Kaş. In addition, the Guinness beer on the menu made us very happy.

Finally, we chose Mavi, which is located in the coastal area. We can honestly say that this is our favourite. We felt at home with their music and friendly atmosphere. In addition, the prices were a little lower than the normal in Kaş. Moreover, if you are craving mussels while drinking beer, like me, mussel sellers stand in line in front of you. You can buy your mussels from here and consume them with beer in Mavi. 😊

Finally, we can say that everyone we saw in Kaş center was extremely happy. We don't know if it's because we came for a holiday or because of the fascinating atmosphere of Kaş, but we felt that everyone was walking on the street very happy and full of energy. Since the foreign tourist population is also very high, you can find the opportunity to see many different people in one spot. By the way, let me warn you already against the excessive sweetness of Russian children and babies 😊

What did we eat in Kaş?

During the time we camped in Kaş, we missed home cooking very much. One day when we were craving home-cooked meals, we visited 2000 Restaurants located at the entrance of Kaş centre. Although the prices were a little higher than normal, the portions were very large and the food was quite tasty. When you go for lunch or dinner, if you prefer half instead of a portion, you can be more than full. I especially recommend you to try the lentil soup. In addition to home cooking, the restaurant also offers options such as İskender.

I told you that we made raki and fish in one day of our Kas camp. In fact, seafood is quite popular in Kas restaurants. You can come across many different fish restaurants, especially while walking around the center. We preferred Kas Olympos Mocamp's Iskele Restaurant for fish dinner. Even if you do not stay in the camp, you can have your meal at the restaurant when you come from outside. Harun Abi, who works at the restaurant, helped us a lot. In fact, we will not forget him because he made our reservation on behalf of "Sakaryaspor". 😊 We preferred sea bass, new raki and shepherd's salad at the restaurant. The portion of our fish, which arrived in a very short time, was quite large. Even tomatoes, onions, arugula, potatoes, parsley and lemon were served with it. I can say that it is the most delicious fish I have eaten in a long time. Moreover, it would not be an exaggeration to say that the magnificent dinner we had with the sunset will not be erased from our memory for a long time.

Lastly, we said that we ate mussels in Kaş. As we can see in Kaş mussels, the products start from 2.5 TL and go up to 5 TL depending on the size. However, I can say that although the size is small, the flavor remains the same. In fact, “I wish all mussel sellers had this price feature!” I can say that we have been through it. In short, there is a wide variety of restaurants ranging from vegan to different world cuisines from the beginning to the end of the stone-ground golden Kaş center. What Activities Did We Do in Kaş?

I can say that walking is the activity we do most in Kaş, which is the paradise on the west side of the Mediterranean. Every day of our holiday, we walked a comprehensive road of about 5-6 km. This is the only way we could enjoy this nature and atmosphere. Especially when you go to the center of Kaş, you have to walk every little bit to discover the illuminated streets one by one. But strangely, you don't feel any fatigue. In addition to hiking, we focused on activities such as camping, travel and photography in Kaş. While on holiday in Kaş, you can experience activities such as scuba diving, free diving, jeep safari, paragliding, sea kayaking, yoga and horse safari. However, when we come to Kaş, we can say that our hearts are in favor of a tent camp where we can be alone with nature. You can stay in Kas with a caravan as well as a tent. We saw many campers who parked their caravans on Uğur Mumcu Street and enjoyed the magnificent view and instantly reached the sea whenever they wanted. If you wish, you can come to Kaş by grabbing your caravan instead of a tent. You can also choose your private car to spend time on the Kas beach. You can leave your belongings in the private vehicle and open the camping chair you have taken with you and enjoy the sun.

What did we see in Kaş?

The nature of Kaş will be quite different especially for people like us who grew up in Istanbul and live in the Marmara Region. Of course, at this point, I am talking about a magnificent atmosphere that will make you feel relieved as soon as you inhale. From the first light of the morning, you can spend unique hours in which you can breathe a unique atmosphere into your lungs. Moreover, in the silence of the morning, you can wake up to the chirping of many different birds and find peace with the sounds of the leaves of the tree.

One of the things we see in Kaş that attracts our attention the most is the diversity of living things. We saw bigger bees in Kaş than we have ever seen before. In fact, a bee as a guest at our breakfast table took a piece of food from the plate and flew away. It's up to us to say bon appetit. 😊 Since it is a camping area, we can say that there are many kinds of insects around. However, since this is the nature of camping, it obviously didn't bother us too much. We used the OFF brand spray to repel mosquitoes and black flies. Yes it worked, but I can't say it's the exact solution. When we returned, we realized that we were lunch for many flies when we saw red dots on our legs. 😊

Another detail that surprised us the most when we saw it at the campsite was the imitative bird. At first glance, we couldn't take our eyes off its fluorescent feathers. Then we were startled by the sound of the cat we heard. Oddly enough, there were no cats around. The mimic bird was making a cat noise. When he repeated this a few times, we were able to see it with our own eyes. Perhaps this was the detail that surprised us the most during the camp. Another surprise theme was the baby fox. On the last night of the camp, while we were sitting next to the tent, we were startled by the sound of bushes. At first we thought it might be a dog but realized that the dog wouldn't be able to scratch for that long. After the sound stopped for a while, we saw a fox approaching from afar. Although his tail is like a fan and his face is very cute, he did not approach us. Frankly, we didn't dare too much 😊 Finally, we learned that there are water turtles wandering around the pontoon.
